Jie Lu is a computer scientist working in the areas of computational intelligence, information systems, and machine learning, and is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Technology Sydney.[1] In 2000, Lu earned her PhD from Curtin University in Perth.[1] From 2004 to 2006, she was an associate professor, and since 2007 she has held a full professorship in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney.[3]
She has made fundamental contributions in the areas of fuzzy transfer learning, concept drift, data-driven decision support systems, and recommender systems. Lu serves as editor-in-chief of the journal Knowledge-Based Systems, published by Elsevier. In September 2019, she was awarded an Australian Laureate Fellowship.[4] In the 2023 Australia Day Honours, Lu was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in recognition of her contributions to engineering, computer science, and artificial intelligence.[5]
