Pino Teresa Caballero Gil (born November 29, 1968, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain) is a Spanish scientist and AI computer scientist.^[2,9] She is a professor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of La Laguna (ULL), where she coordinates the CryptULL cryptology research group.^[3]

She received her degree in mathematics from the Universidad de La Laguna in 1990, and obtained her doctorate from the same university in 1995. Since 2015, she has served as a full professor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Her research focuses on cryptography, cryptanalysis, cryptographic protocols, wireless communications security, pseudorandom number generators, strong authentication, and secure mobile applications.^[1,2,7] Since 1998, she has coordinated the CryptULL research group in cryptology at the Universidad de La Laguna.^[3]

She has participated in 47 national and international research projects and is a founding member of the Spanish Network of Excellence on Cybersecurity Research.^[4,3,5,8] She is also a member of the Instituto Universitario de Desarrollo Regional (University Institute for Regional Development) and the Instituto Universitario de Estudios de la Mujer.^[3] In 2019, she was an unsuccessful candidate for rector at ULL, and in 2022, she delivered a plenary lecture during the Spanish Meeting on Cryptology and Information Security (RECSI) at the University of Cantabria.^[6]

In 1998, she received the Día de Canarias Award for Young Researchers, and she has also received the "Business Project" Award from the Fundación Fyde-CajaCanarias.^[3,7] In 2017, she received the Award of the Instituto Universitario de Estudios de las Mujeres of the Universidad de La Laguna.^[8]

In 1998, she received the Premio Día de Canarias para Jóvenes Investigadores. In 2017, she received the Award of the Instituto Universitario de Estudios de la Mujer, ULL. She also received the "Proyecto Empresarial" Award from the Fyde-Fundación CajaCanarias.
